The holy martyrs , Severus and Memnon , the centurion , and with them thirty-seven martyrs .
On the same day the memory of the holy martyrs: Severus, of Thrace, and Memnon the centurion, and with them thirty-seven martyrs, who suffered for Christ at Philippi, from the epigemon Apellianus. Severus was subjected to strangulation with iron, then burning rings were put on his fingers, then he was girded with an iron belt heated on fire, and finally he was cut off in the head.
